As I wrapped up teaching both the Organization Development and Executive Coaching Certification Programs at Symbiosis Coaching, I was reminded again of how much I value working at the intersection of leadership, teaching, and coaching. Each role has its own unique impact, but when they come together, they create something incredibly powerful—spaces where real growth, curiosity, and purpose are sparked.

In my corporate work, where I support organizational and process changes, and in my teaching and coaching roles, these intersections keep me motivated and inspired. It’s in these overlaps that I find my “zone of genius”—where the magic really happens. Here’s a closer look at how these combinations create a deeper, richer approach to helping others grow and lead.

1. Leadership + Teaching = Inspiring Vision

When leadership and teaching come together, they form a foundation for Inspiring Vision. This blend goes beyond setting direction; it’s about lighting up the path for others to see new possibilities. A great leader inspires by example, but a leader who teaches brings others into the vision, showing them how to carve their own way forward. This is especially true in organizational settings, where guiding others through change requires patience, clarity, and the ability to create buy-in. I find that when I bring teaching into leadership, I empower others to not just follow but to engage deeply, question thoughtfully, and feel part of the bigger picture.

2. Teaching + Coaching = Curiosity in Action

This intersection of teaching and coaching unlocks Curiosity in Action. Teaching provides the “what” and “how,” while coaching brings the “why” and the space to explore. When I combine these roles, it’s not just about giving people information but inviting them to lean into their curiosity, ask the right questions, and pursue their own insights. In every course I teach or coaching session I lead, my goal is to guide students and clients toward self-discovery. By holding space for them to explore, I help them connect more deeply with the learning process, making it relevant and real. Curiosity becomes more than a trait—it becomes an active practice.

3. Leadership + Coaching = Purpose-Driven Guidance

Bringing leadership and coaching together creates Purpose-Driven Guidance. In a corporate environment, effective leadership involves understanding not just where we’re going but why it matters. When I combine this with coaching, I focus on supporting individuals to find their own sense of purpose within the team’s goals. This combination transforms leadership into something more profound—it’s no longer just about leading by example; it’s about nurturing others to uncover their own strengths, challenges, and ambitions, aligning them with meaningful objectives. Through purpose-driven guidance, I help others see their impact and approach their work with more intention and ownership.
